Since it’s original inception, the most active section of the forums has always been “literary criticism” While often used as a vehicle to attack author Patrick Tomlinson, it has also served as a way to interfere with and harass some authors and recruit other authors. In this article I am going to outline some of onaforum’s author allies, but there are many more. While some may expect these authors to be self published and unknown, that’s actually not the case.
#1 Nice Podcast Stupid Promoting Friendly Authors @nicenamestupid
While Daniel Mullen himself is not an author, he has used his platform many times to promote sales of friendly authors. Leslie Varney and Lori Janesky as an example, have done full 3+ hour podcasts with Daniel with a total content time somewhere in the range of 8 hours. These podcasts outline the authors book and promote it, while they attack forum enemies as another way to promote sales.
Daniel regularly attempts to recruit more authors on X, asking them to appear on his podcast.
#2 Brian Keene @briankeene
Brian Keene is a known onaforums member and regularly engages with forum enemies on X. Brian’s main target seems to be Patrick Tomlinson on social media.
Brian runs a bookstore called Vortex, which he has harnessed to harass those who oppose the forums. At one point, Brian would accept books from authors like Patrick Tomlinson as store credit, just so he could throw them in a large, decorated trash bin.
Keene was awarded an onaforums account by Bernard Murphy after he posted the trash bin on social media, bragging about throwing away books, and engaging in swinger activity with Leslie Varney. He has discussed coordinating more events with the forums via his store and conventions, recently having his store praised by a very famous author.
#3 Larry Correia @monsterhunter45
Larry was recruited by the forums after it was found out he had an altercation with a forum enemy Patrick Tomlinson, which is referred too as “The Spaghetti Factory Incident”, where both sides describe the story differently.
Shortly after engaging with the forums about this event, Larry was given a forum account by owner Bernard Murphy. While Larry isn’t known to post on the public side, he regularly shares information gathered by his own podcast, WriterDojo. Larry recently got the higher ranking forum buzzing when he revealed that he had privately discussed Patrick Tomlinson with well known youtuber, Critical Drinker.
Out of all the people listed here, Larry has been more clever at concealing his movements than anyone. To this day, there are many members who don’t even know he’s there. In my opinion he may be one of the most effective people doing this.
#4 Leslie Varney @virtuallyleslie
Leslie is employed by Prentis Literary Agency, which she has used to leverage against enemies of the forums. She has appeared on Nice Podcast Stupid and regularly engages with forum enemies on X. Known for having an open relationship with her husband, she regularly flirts with members and is rumored to have met with at least 3 of them. Her twitter is also regularly filled with photos of undressed men
However, beyond the soft core pornography enthusiasm her main goal is to fight with forum enemies.
#5 Jon Del Arroz @jondelarroz
Arroz gained a reputation with the forums because he sued the SFWA and won. He is one of the first actual authors that joined the forums and even publicly showed he had an account. These days however, Arroz mostly reports on the forums news instead of giving the forum information. There are some exceptions, like when he helped forum members gain access to conventions via his own contacts.
#6 Lori Janeski @janeskilori
Lori is a guest on Nice Podcast Stupid, where she helped create hours of forum content. She railed against author Patrick Tomlinson in her episode and is rumored to have helped recruit Larry Correia. In fact, in her podcast episode she mentions reaching out to him. She also uses her social media to launch attacks against other authors.
#7 Steve Diamond @stevediamond80
Steve is another friend of Correia, who often accompanies him to cons and events. Steve was present during the “Spaghetti Factory Incident” and has been a forum member for about the same time as Correia. Steve is also the co-host of The Writers Dojo and is a regular informant for onaforums.
Isn’t it fascinating how this entire libelous tirade's focus on me zeroes in on my (completely fabricated) sexual choices? I mean, calling a woman a promiscuous whore? Groundbreaking! It’s not like that ever gets old. And how rich is it that this comes in defense of a man who touts himself as a champion for women while spouting misogynistic remarks at those he deems “enemies”, not to mention leaving creepy sexual comments on the posts of women he considers “friends.”
My advice to the author and Patrick Tomlinson is, even if you can't keep your mind out of my pants, keep it to yourself.
